im a crippling webgames addict and ive been really curious to find lots of webgames made in the early-mid 1990s
for a while i thought this HTML story game released in 1994 was the first ever webgame
but apparently not, someone SOMEHOW made a game playable in internet browsers in 1 9 9 2
(you can play this now in flashpoint)
anyway, im hooked on webgames made from around 1994-1997 because of their old internet vibe
before flash was used by every person in existence, people made games on other platforms such as Java, Shockwave, VRML, and Viscape.
Also, if you guys want to play an online multiplayer webgame from 1997 with the same quality from that caveman era, you suprisingly can! TankPit.com is a website that lets you play the ancient webgame Battlefield, but like, before its parent company got bankrupt. This is so cool to me because essentially every other online multiplayer webgame from the 90s has been lost media since then, from Microsoft's Internet Zone thingamabob to Yahoo Chess.
sorry if this didnt make any grammatical sense im just so excitred rn aksdjhflksahdlkfhsadL KHFLKJAHWSLDJKAHKSJD

This was a great read. There are loads of abandonware browser games Id love to see resurface or at least the source be released. There were a lot of devs and media companies that focused on making AAA'esque quality games for browser thinking it would be the future of gaming at the time.
